How a joke coin could become a top coin (and conversely)

I never liked XRP: too much centralized, not in sync' with crypto philosophy.

However, the upcoming launch of Flare Network, for which there was an XRP airdrop seven months ago, might pump XRP higher.

Furthermore, it seems that XRP will be re-listed by COINBASE for trading on July 28... which would explain some big movements of XRP funds on Coinbase accounts observed by Whale Alert.

So what could happen now? XRP will likely breakout, going higher and higher, in the next few weeks. 

Will it change the usual centralization issue for XRP?

No, for sure, it will not change the nature of XRP. But this relisting by Coinbase (and likely some other exchanges) probably means that the SEC cannot really do anything against XRP and their parent company Ripple, or that a deal is in the air... In all the cases, it will pump XRP higher.

What does it mean for the other coins?

Suddenly, with this new rally of XRP, we will discover that XRP is finally more environmental friendly than some other coins, and Bitcoin in particular. I know it is not very popular to say that, but it is a fact. Furthermore, the decentralization by design of Bitcoin has been damaged by the recent events in China which showed that although it is decentralized in theory, it is centralized in reality since the mining is centralized. Since the mining farms closed in Sichuan, there are now more mining farms outside China... But there are still concentrated somewhere, and the point is that they are mostly in Texas. Therefore, any new decision from the regulators in the US against these new mining farms could have the same impact as in China... A never ending story. Whereas with XRP, once the SEC has dropped the case or once they have signed a deal with Ripple, they will simply be free of any threat...

More generally, before talking about centralization and decentralization in theory, one should look at where the miners are concentrated. One more example: Filecoin is a great project, this decentralized storage solution is smart, but most of the miners are in China, so if the Chinese government decides to forbid the mining of Filecoin, it will become a joke coin.

In summary, the joke coins of today could become the top coins of tomorrow, and conversely.
