Shardus: Software to Enable a Decentralized World - Q3 Update

Do repost and rate:

At Shardus, we believe development progress should be our #1 priority. That’s why for the past 3 years we’ve been self-funded focused solely on completing the Shardus software. Take a moment to think about that. For 3 years, highly talented developers across the globe have been working hard from the confines of their home to develop Shardus in return for ULT. Time is a precious thing. Shardus’ developers could go work for any company and earn a hefty salary but they’ve chosen to spend their time working on Shardus. Alternatively, the founders of Shardus could’ve chosen to incorporate an entity, run a token sale or seek VC funding and have a cushy budget to build the software.

If this is your first time hearing about Shardus you’re probably wondering, “Why would anyone ever dedicate their time to an unincorporated project with no funding?”. The reason is the mission behind Shardus. We are building software to enable the decentralized world. We believe a centralized entity should not own the infrastructure of our decentralized future. Shardus is positioned to be the decentralized team that completes software supporting decentralized networks with millions of daily transactions. These networks will be the infrastructure for the world's most popular decentralized applications. Best of all, Shardus is owned by no one and never will be.

If you are excited about the paradigm shift blockchain will enable then think about this: what are the constraints holding decentralized applications back from global adoption today and what will solve them? Scalability, decentralization, and user experience are some of the common limitations. Shardus solves all of these challenges by providing the software needed to launch linearly scalable decentralized networks with state sharding. With Shardus, any developer who is familiar with building web apps can build a scalable decentralized service with high throughput and fast transactions. Although I’m not going to tell you exactly how Shardus works yet because I want you to learn about it at our event.

Since 2018 the Shardus team has held an event each quarter to present progress made on the Shardus software. If you look at the event recordings on our YouTube channel you can see Shardus progress over time from only a static network to a linearly scalable sharded network with a TPS limit that increases as more nodes join the network. Our quarterly events are a great way to share what the Shardus team has been working on recently with the Shardus community. Our Q3 2020 Update event is scheduled for this Saturday, 10/31 at 1 PM CT.

During our Q3 event we will be demonstrating progress we’ve made on the first decentralized application built with Shardus named Liberdus. Liberdus is a decentralized service with exciting features such as messaging, friending, staking, investment fund proposals and on chain governance that enable the Liberdus ecosystem to operate as a DAO. Throughout Q3 we’ve improved the Liberdus interface and built an explorer similar to Etherscan that can be used to search through data on the Liberdus network. In addition to demonstrating Liberdus we will be talking about our future roadmap for the release of the Shardus software.

We invite you to join us for our Q3 2020 Shardus Update! If you would like to attend please register for the event here.
