My Top 8 Grossing Articles in September

Do repost and rate:

I wrote about my top 8 grossing articles in August and thought that I would make it a monthly routine. If I want to become the best writer, I have to be attuned into readers’ interests and find that sweet ground in which my writing passions converge with their interests so that I can not only derive joy from writing, but earn as much as I can for my #diaperfinancingfund.

Where were you when the Merge happened? (67 cents)

I thought about looking at the Merge not from a technical standpoint, but from a humanistic perspective. I wondered if the Merge was considered to be so momentous by crypto investors that they would keep a close eye on it and immerse themselves in the countdown. I gathered varied responses. While some watched the Merge live on the Ethereum Foundation YouTube channel, others went about their daily routine. One memorable response was that the user was sleeping because he’s not overinvested in anything. I think this response says a lot about investing without attachment - how we need to zoom out and not get ourselves emotionally tangled in our investments.

About GlobalHive (51 cents)

This was a sleeper hit. I expected to get like 3 cents for this article but it far exceeded my expectations, garnering 51 cents. Most of my articles don’t even cross the 40 cents mark! I have no idea why this article was so well-received. It was about a fairly obscure faucet and discussed how I was a happy user as I got Zcash regularly. Not sure if many people are thronging this site to get their daily fix of Zcash in the first place; I am not sure if it is highly sought after. The only conclusion I can come up with is that it must have been a slow day at this site. There was a dearth of new articles, so people tipped this article to use up their tips.

Maximiser vs Satisficer in crypto investing(47 cents)

I quite like this article and am glad that it did pretty well. The dilemma between being a maximiser and being a satisficer is something that I think about for things other than crypto. For instance, do I gather data about whether the timing I release my articles has any correlation with the tips I consequently gain on Publish0x? If I try to gather and analyse such data, I will be a maximiser because I am determined to create an environment in which my articles can best succeed. But nay, I am a satisficer, so I just publish my article whenever I finish writing. I wanted to know if people are strategic with their DCA and try to time the market with their investments. I thought I gained some insights on human behaviour from this article!

My TrustPilot Review for Publish0x (46 cents)

This article arose from a simple idea but was expertly executed, if I may say so myself. (Self praise us international disgrace.) I expected this article to do well because even though we come from diverse backgrounds and have different motivations, we are all bound by one thing: members of Publish0x. Most of us love being here, so I thought people would act on their curiosity and click on my article to check out the contents. Luckily, you guys were kind enough to award me tips!

4 levels of crypto investors - which investor are you? (45 cents)

Tried my hand at comedic writing since this article comprised some blanket statements that covered the entire spectrum of investors - ranging from novices to degen risk-takers. Sometimes, it’s good not to take myself too seriously. Just gallop with my running thoughts, pump in as many realistic stereotypes as I can, and TA-DA! I’m ready to publish!

What training wheels did you use when you started out with leverage? (42 cents)

In contrast to the funny article that was written in a tongue-in-check manner, this article was written in all seriousness. I know it’s dangerous to play around with leverage but at some point in time, I will like to try it once just to get authentic experience on how the process is like. This is particularly so when KUCOIN offers automated trading bots that we can leverage (no pun intended). Received two thorough and thoughtful responses to this, will mull them over to see how I can start on the right footing. At the very least, I won’t be using the automated trading bots - the users advised against it!

Which came for you first, BTC or ETH? (38 cents)

Gemini conducted a crypto survey in Singapore last year. What was interesting about the results was that most crypto investors would possess ETH. This was an unexpected finding for me because I would have assumed that my FOMO countrymen would seek to acquire BTC, given its finite supply. This is despite the fact that the first crypto I acquired was ETH. Didn’t get a lot of responses for this one but MarvinScottMarvin wrote me a very nice comment about how he had purchased BTC and ETH at the same time. (Please show his articles some love!)

Saving and Budgeting Tips from Mr Heng (32 cents)

Sometimes, my professional life and personal life align. In this case, I showed my form class students PUBLISH0X and typed my saving and budgeting tips right before their eyes. Money is not a topic that fun-loving teenagers typically love but my charges were surprisingly engaged and enthusiastic, copying my hard-won tips diligently! They even shared with me some of their money habits. It was one of my more memorable lessons with them - and to be able to get some money for this lesson was icing on the cake!

I’m rather happy about my writing efforts in September. Quite a few of them crossed the 40 cents mark, which made me motivated to do better this month. Will I better myself? Stay tuned to my blog to find out!
