Where were you when the Merge happened?

Do repost and rate:

The Merge has got to be the most hotly anticipated event of 2022. The Ethereum developers delayed this update time and time again, which lent an air of surreality to it. Was it going to happen?

Many of us who were vested in the future of ETH waited with baited breath. Perhaps we had staked ETH and couldn’t wait for it to happen so that we could join the queue to unstake it. Perhaps we had some ETH left in exchanges and wanted to profit from the ETH POW airdrop that was likely to happen. Perhaps the well-heeled among us were even hatching plans to run our own validator and couldn’t wait for the party to get started.

Then there were those of us who were apprehensive about whether the Merge would occur without a hitch. Unexpected bugs might occur and cause everything to backfire. Or we were miners and resented that our investment into mining equipment would not reap that much dividends. Or we were too busy with life and couldn’t take stock of this grand event.

Where were you when the Merge happened? Were you glued to the screen or preoccupied with something else? This may be the crypto story of our era. Let’s record it down for posterity.
