I've had to acquire my own $wax

So, I am actually a little late to the game when it comes to taking advantage of services and platforms to get $WAX. But as they always say, better late than never and that holds true for $WAX as well.

There are so many different uses for the WAX token. I like to use mine for staking and earning more CPU/GPU and RAM resources, that way I may still freely and smoothly do activities on the Wax Blockchain. Others like to buy/bid on NFTs on platforms like Atomic Hub. Whatever your reasoning, we know that WAX is the main driver for all activities on their blockchain. So how do we get it?

As a US citizen, it has NOT been easy getting my hands on WAX. That's true for almost all of the more obscure tokens, though, so I was not totally surprised by this. Some options include using services like MoonPay and Changelly, but the cost of some of these services makes them inefficient to try and get WAX to your wallet. I even tried buying some EOS on Voyager and then trying to convert the EOS on an exchange to WAX and sending that back to my WAX wallet, but that wasn't the best route either. Plus, that turned into another project for me entirely, so I didn't even get to the end result I wanted. So my last option was to find a way to swap some tokens for WAX on the blockchain itself.

If you remember me talking about rPlanet, you'll know that I have been staking some of my abundant NFTs to the rPlanet platform. When doing this, I am increasing the amount of Aether I am able to earn each hour. Aether is a token used in the rPlanet ecosystem to buy items and lands, but for my purposes, I am using it to get WAX. I do this by using the Alcor Exchange. It has a few nets that you can sign into, but I always use my Wax Cloud Wallet to sign in. Especially since that is where all of these tokens need to go. Once you get to the Alcor Exchange, all you need to do is sign in with your WCW like you would for any other service. Once that is done, you are ready to start using their exchange as you need.

There are a lot of pairs that you can choose from to swap around. The ones that I use the most are TLM/WAX, DUST/WAX, and Aether/WAX. As you can see, the end result is turning everything into WAX. This proves further that it really is the most important token for this ecosystem. But that isn't to say it isn't important to collect the other. Otherwise, how would we ever get to owning WAX in the end?

Once you have selected your method of getting your WAX, you have some of your own research to do. You will have to consider the price and value of each token involved and if you are making a good trade at the given time. You can also look at other offers for the same tokens that currently exist on the exchange. Personally, I do not mind getting a terrible deal on my tokens, as long as it means I have consolidated all the way down to WAX, as my strategy goes.

This would work the same way for TLM and DUST if you were planning to swap those as well. I do swap those from time to time, but it just depends on what I have collected the most recently. Usually, that's Aether because I earn it passively each hour. Even though rPlanet reduced the rate at which you can earn Aether each hour, it is still a passive activity that can earn you some tokens.

The more blockchain games I play and the more NFTs I collect to stake, the more Aether I will generate each hour. I don't think this is the most efficient and quickest way to earn some WAX, but I do know it is a method that is within my reach so I will continue to do it. I don't plan on trying to get my WAX to EOS and then converted to fiat. I think I would lose a lot of value along the way because of cost spreads and trading fees. So for now the WAX will stay in the wallet and be used to buy more fun collectibles.

I know I mention that I am playing games and staking to earn more Aether, so I should probably note that I am only referring to Alien Worlds and Koloboks. Each game has a decent drop rate of common NFTs that can be staked to rPlanet. There are a lot of projects and NFTs that can be staked on rPlanet, but I don't have any of those yet, so I will just keep using the two games that I am familiar with. I have about ~110 NFTs staked currently, earning almost 70 Aether an hour. This means that I am nearing ~1650 Aether a day. With today's rates, that is about .3 WAX. Prices and exchange rates used to be a lot better, but as I mentioned at the very beginning I was a bit late to this game.
