The IOTA Foundation has decided to be a part of the Gaia-X Community to enable the creation of a sovereign data exchange forum of enhanced privacy and security, according to IOTA price prediction reports. The two platforms shall work at the protocol level and within the Streams frameworks and IOTA identity. Both platforms seek to develop open-source technologies to improve the platform’s transparency, security, and innovation through the collaboration. The platform’s core mission is to create a federated infrastructure for hosting next-generation data services across Europe.
Gaia-X is a community of leading companies, research institutions, enterprises, public sector corporations of Europe. It seeks to enable the sovereign, secure, and open utilization of data across and beyond Europe. To ensure the transparency, decentralization, and sovereignty of data services, Gaia-X allows data owners to take direct control of the data and enables the connection of data spaces across industry domains as well as decentralized and centralized infrastructure. With both European and non-European members, Gaia-X operates along dynamic lines that include vertical focus like agriculture, energy, mobility working groups, and regional focus, consisting of national hubs.
Gaia-X, a community of more than 500 members, receives the support of national authorities, which include the French Ministry of Economics, the German Ministry of Economic and Energy Affairs, and more. Christoph Strnadl, the VP of Innovation & Architecture of Software AG, is pleased with the membership of the IOTA Foundation in the Gaia-X community. Software AG is a member of the core working group of Gaia-X and a partner of the iECO proposal. At Gaia-X, the IOTA Foundation shall team up with Software AG and several other enterprises to enable the sovereign exchange of data and services and become the new wave of digital novelty and innovation in Europe and beyond.
