I guess it's another of life's great mysteries. It seems those that entered the workforce thirty or more years ago, and maybe even less, do not just have a distrust of Crypto but even a disdain for it.
Skepticism is not an adequate description of this attitude. Even financial planners wish to cling to the notion that Crypto is simply a flash in the pan that will not provide fruit in the future. Are they stuck in an era of blue-chip stocks, bonds, and meager dividends? Just two years ago major banks were insinuating or stating outright that any involvement in Crypto was dishonest or even criminal. This line of thinking is still pervasive in spite of the fact that the Comptroller of the U.S. Dollar has planted seeds that will undoubtedly grow and benefit markets, industries, and the individual.
The ignorance is a double-edged blade. On the one side there has been more time for those that believe in the technologies to learn, invest, experiment, profit, and become established in markets. The other side of that blade has been that of general resistance to adoption of Blockchain regardless of intended purpose or use. This resistance includes knowledge suppression that deters advancement or development that would likely benefit the average citizen of the world. That resistance is populated by fear of the dark. That fear keeps one in the dark.
Example: A young acquaintance sought financial advice from his CPA (Certified Public Accountant in the States) father concerning safe investment in some type of Crypto. He was likely referring to BTC. His father became angered and demanded he never consider any such investment, and that he would never utter those words in his home again. Why? BTC has doubled in value in the time since that conversation. It should be added that the father is a very successful man that is so antiquated in his ways that he writes physical checks at the supermarket.
When will general acceptance occur? What will that look like?
