Cashaa has published a post on their Blog and share the complete information related to Bitcoin Hack.
Cashaa is a crypto-friendly neo-bank based in London providing banking services to businesses from the crypto industry. Cashaa is also dealing with Bitcoin OTC operations and working with all major exchanges in India.
So what exactly happend that Day ???
According to Cashaa there was Cyber attack on them and Hackers had stolen 336 bitcoins in some microseconds.
But the Good news that There has no security breach on the platform (cryptofans.ru.cashaa.com) cashaa website.
On 08 July 2020 an employee had reported an issue on the system provided by the company and requested to operate with his personal computer. Cashaa Team had accepted his request so keeping ‘customer experience’ in mind for the ongoing OTC deals/transactions.
He had started creating Multiple alternative online wallets on various platforms like Blockchain.com, Huboi etc
A cyberattack occurred on their system that was able to penetrate a vulnevrable machine of a ‘Cashaa India OTC’ Employee. Within microseconds, all the funds in that account were wipedoff in this first transaction signed.
Hackers used various techniques, including phishing, viruses and other attacks and controlled the employee's computer and transfered the Bitcoin on their wallet address 14RYUUaMW1shoxCav4znEh64xnTtL3a2Ek and later it sepread into multiple address.
After this incident Cashaa Team has seized the computer for investigation and auspend the employee untill the end of the investigation.
They filed a cybercrime incident report to the Delhi Cyber Crime Bureau with acknowledgement number 20807200031555 under the cryptocurrency crime category.
They had contacted many crypto exchange to block the address and make impossible to cash out the funds. And this Time many Crypto Exchange some kf them are Wazirx , Binance, CoinDCX, BitBNS, Huobi, OKex, Bitfinix, MXC and many other helped them by blocking the address.
