The attacker discovered a vulnerability in the MPHMinter protocol, which allowed withdrawing Ethereum invested by investors. But the platform developers managed to prevent the attack and transferred not only the users' cryptocurrency, but also the hacker's assets to a safe place.
To exploit the vulnerability, the attacker had to first transfer his cryptocurrency to the protocol. For this purpose, he allocated $ 100 thousand. But the hacker did not have time to make money from the vulnerabilities. A well-known developer and blockchain specialist working under the pseudonym samczsun informed the MPHMinter team about the attack. Together they withdrew all the assets invested by the investors in the protocol, including the $ 100,000 owned by the hacker. Now this money will be distributed free of charge among MPHMinter users.
This is not the first time Samczsun has saved funds from DeFi projects. At the end of September, he discovered a vulnerability in the Lien Finance protocol, which allowed anyone to freely embezzle $ 10 million. The developer assembled a team that helped to withdraw funds before a possible hacker attack and return them to the project.
