I like Coinbase. I think it has its issues but, generally speaking, it's a safe place for your assets.
I guess that explains why I've got $25 worth of COINBASE at the moment.
But all jokes aside, I'm a bit mad at CB this morning because, for the umpteenth time, I've been asked to verify my account.
There's a message, superimposed at the top of my screen, that reads: "Verify by Jan 05, 2024 or your account will be restricted to withdrawals only".
So I clicked 'Verify Now', and to be honest I'm lost.
They're asking for my Tax ID.
Now, obviously Coinbase knows where I'm based, so I know what they mean by that.
But I'm still bothered.
Chiefly because, in my country, your Tax ID is only relevant if you've got a business, which I don't.
So what do they need it for?
I don't know. This is kinda getting out of hand and it's annoying.
KuCoin is now asking users to KYC, BINANCE has already asked me to get verified twice. What's next?
