If you're XRP trader or hodler then it's alert for you. If you see such websites claiming that Ripple is giving XRP then don't fall for that scam, they'll steal your coins in just matter of seconds.

Crypto forensic expert Xrplorer warns that the multiple scammers are looking to steal secret keys by phishing. These scammers are reportedly send extremely small amount of XRP to various LEDGER accounts with memo as following :

"Starting February 1st, 2020, Ripple is releasing 3 Billion XRP to incentivise network users. Get 25% more XRP added to your account balance in just minutes.”

The main Moto behind this is to get clicks on the blog which appears legitimate Ripple site to the untrained eyes, which confirms that the user will do as the instructions given in the give away without suspecting that he/she is getting scammed.

These Scammers use homoglyph domains which are almost exact replica of the original website. These domains uses similar looking characters but with different script which cannot be easily noticed by user. For example, the character 'O' in Greek, Latin and Cyrillic looks same but they've different scripts. With the help of such homoglyph domains Scamming website can be developed.

“The entire heist operation is an elaborate setup with messages sent to XRP accounts based on their holdings, homoglyph domains, fake but trustworthy marketing material, tools to collect secret keys that also checks balance on the XRPL and much more.”

The Scammers are now sending emails to individuals interested in crypto. At the time of report of Xrplorer scammers stole 2,100,000 XRP and Xrplorer also pointed out that around 1,980,000 XRP crypto has been laundered by these scammers from exchanges mainly ChangeNOW and CoinSwitch.

Along with great multiple pros of cryptocurriencies there's one thing which cannot be ignored that is " Scamming ". Yes, we've heard that cryptocurriencies are the most secure assets which cannot be hacked but what they mean from that previous statement is that no-one can hack into the network of cryptocurriencies, it does not mean that your crypto asset is safe from hacking. Actually hackers are not hacking cryptocurriencies they're hacking your credentials which will help them to get into your account and steal all of your hardly earned crypto. Beware of such scams and invest your money wisely.
