Off the back of a recent post I thought it a good idea to share with you some statistics and tips on how to maximise using and keeping your passwords safe.

Whilst I’m sure no one here has a password this easy its frightening how people don’t seem to treat their online passwords like they should. A password shouldn’t be something easily remembered or convenient it should be difficult for anyone to bypass.
Lets look at how the more complex a password, the difficulty it requires to crack
So if you must use a password that’s memorable for you (I will talk more about unique passwords and managers shortly) try mixing it up.
Say for example, your password is password10. Try combining upper case, lower case, symbols and numbers to improve the security.
Using this method password10 could become P@5sW0rD!z3r0
You’ve jumped from an instantly crackable password to one that will take 34,000 years simply by mixing it up.
Personally, i use a different and unique password for EVERYTHING. I use a password manager called BitWarden (who also make bitdefender antivirus and malware protection which I also highly recommend using for all your devices).
Bitwarden is a free open source software that has mobile apps and browser extensions and for me works fantastic. When signing up or changing a password in anything it will automatically ask if you wish to save your password. It can also generate passwords for you making keeping everything unique very simple. You can specify how many symbols, numbers, upper and lowercase characters you wish to have in that password to.
For me it beats hands down the built in password managers of brave, chrome, firefox, etc and it is cross platform compatible. Other options are lastpass, 1password and roboform. Ive tried them all and for me, someone who uses android, linux and windows platforms daily?—?bitwarden is the way forth.
