Here is another list of tips to avoid being a victim of Cryptocurrency scammers. It is the continuation of the article that I published previously.

  • Join the official social media of your cryptocurrency, so you stay informed of the most relevant news and developments of your crypto; where you can also consult and clarify any questions in this regard.
  • Before making any crypto investment, do your own analysis and research on the risk involved in these operations. Don't risk all your savings on these operations.
  • Periodically change the accounts you use to trade at a Crypto Exchanges. When you make an operation through an exchange house, the public keys used are known to third parties. Preferably use a different account for each transaction, thus reducing the risk that someone can investigate you and hack your wallet. Don't use a wallet to buy or sell crypto.
  • Do not keep your cryptocurrencies for long periods of time in cryptocurrency exchanges houses. These can be closed, will get hacked or start a maintenance of their platforms. You could have your money held for a long time and in the worst scenario if the exchange house closes you run the risk of losing your coins permanently.
  • Do not install applications from unofficial sites that offer you the ability to earn or trade cryptocurrencies. On the internet there are many applications of fake wallets, games and other applications that what they seek is to seize your private keys to scam you.
  • Beware of illegal cryptocurrency mining, there have been many cases of games that take over your smartphone to mine some cryptocurrency and thus make a profit using your equipment without your consent. Others promise to mine Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple (Ripple cannot be mined), etc., but they are actually fake miners, be careful with these malware as they can damage your equipment.
  • You can activate Google Play Protect on your cell phone since it offers you the possibility of getting rid of malicious software by checking the security of the applications before installing them; likewise it analyzes your cell phone in search of malicious software and if it finds it gives you an alert of safety.
  • If possible use two factor authentication (2FA) to protect your accounts and wallets.

Remember that once a scammer seizes your wallet's seed or private key, they will have access to the accounts associated with it at any time. If this is the case, I recommend creating a new wallet and taking the precautions mentioned above.

If you liked this article, help me by indicating your weighting at the bottom and do not forget to leave your comment. Bye!
