I am using a tool called CoinTracker to automatically track all my different wallets and funds that I am holding on exchanges. This morning I noticed, that I have received 95,000 FLUX tokens in my BINANCE Smart Chain wallet. I had absolutely no idea where these tokens are coming from.
So I headed over to CoinGecko to find out more about FLUX token and I typed in FLUX in the search bar. Here is the result:
So my FLUX tokens would have a value of 85.435,4 USD. This is the moment when greed sets in. Keep in mind, that the first ingredient for every successful scam is greed.
But this token is an ERC20 token but I received a BEP20 token on the Binance Smart Chain.
So I continued my research on BscScan. by typing in my BSC address to find out the contract address of FLUX token. This is what I found:
This is the token I received. Nearly all tokens were dropped to nearly 2 million addresses and it obviously belongs to the website GoFlux.io
It is as the name of the website itself is telling me to go there. I Will do so but first, let's go over to PancakeSwap to see if I can sell the tokens right away. I added FLUX as a custom token by the contract address and look:
A value of 45.6478 BNB. ?? Unfortunately, the price impact is too high.
If I would sell all my FLUX, then FLUX would be worthless, so it doesn`t work. Let`s try a smaller amount.
Damn, also not working. I get this error message. These guys are so smart that they placed their orders in a way that suggests that the token has a value but at the same time no trade can be executed.
So let`s check out this GoFlux.io site as it seems that these FLUX tokens are belonging to this website.
This is the website and you see the buttons GET AIRDROP ??
This is where they want you to click on it.
They want you to connect your wallet suggesting that you can trade your tokens in an instant.
Don`t unlock your wallet on this website! It is a malicious smart contract that can and will steal all your funds from your Binance Smart Chain Wallet.
When you scroll down to the footer, you can spot some big red flags.
The social media links at the bottom of the page don`t lead to any profiles. They don`t have any social media at all.
My Final Words
I thought that I already had seen the worst of all with kicktoken but this one tops it all. It is not only spammy but also very scammy. The worst I have seen so far. ??
If you have a Binance Smart Chain wallet then the chances are high that you also received the shitcoins. The best thing that you can do is to ignore the FLUX tokens and remove the balances from your portfolio.
I just hope I could provide you with some interesting and useful information about the latest shitcoin attack.
