COLONIAL PIPELINE HACKED...
The entire United States east coasts supply of transportation fuel was cutoff when hackers attacked the Colonial Pipeline controls. Land and air fuel is all distributed through this system.
An emergency declaration has been issued as efforts to gain control from the ransomware attack are ongoing. Over 50% of the Gas, Diesel & Jet Plane fuel for 17 states is affected.
It’s not yet known if this will impact prices at the pump. The department of Homeland Security believes a Russin group called Darkside is responsible. They previously hit Office Depo & Enterprise Rental.
At the time of this writing reports of some progress in gaining control was anticipated. Simply paying the ransom was not the best option considering the attackers can not be trusted to give back full control.
The attackers have demanded payment via crypto currency in hopes of not being caught. Got a feeling that’s not going to be the best method of stealth ??...
