Russia-based cryptocurrency exchange Livecoin, which called its users to "stop using our Exchange", stating that it was attacked in late December, has completely ended its operations.

With a statement made through a new domain called livecoin.news, the exchange announced that LIVECOIN suffered a great deal of technical and financial damage due to the attack and that the activity could not be continued under the current conditions. In the statement, customers were asked to contact via email to receive payment after completing the verification procedure. Accordingly, a request for payment will be received until March 17, 2021 and no new applications will be accepted afterwards.

The statement also warned that people who may introduce themselves as Livecoin representatives and communicate through different channels should be careful and not send money to anyone.

On the other hand, when Livecoin announced it was hacked, some suggested it might be an "exit scam" set up by the names behind Livecoin. During the event, the Bitcoin price on Livecoin strikingly rose above $ 300,000, although the average market price was $ 24,000.
