A lawsuit has been filed against the trading platform, it is suspected of manipulating the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, money laundering and working in US jurisdictions without the necessary license

The Bitcoin Manipulation Abatement LLC (BMA), which in May accused the BITMEX derivatives platform of fraud, came up with a new demand. The plaintiff asked the court to freeze all correspondence by e-mail between the exchange and its customers. This data can confirm that the platform provided services to users from the United States without a license, and thus violated the laws of the country, reports Cointelegraph .

About 30 thousand messages are stored on the Twilio email service, which agreed to ban the deletion of data from your BitMEX account until June 15. This service is located in the US jurisdiction. It was a mistake to use it and at the same time be registered in Seychelles through the parent company HDR Global Trading, said BMA General Counsel Pavel Pogodin. He noted that when the company asked BitMEX for further information on the case, representatives of the platform responded with a meme.

“Registered in the Seychelles, what will you do to me, bro,” is written in the picture with the image of one of the founders of BitMEX.

BMA sued BitMEX and its co-founders Arthur Hayes, Ben Delo and Samuel Reed on May 16. The platform is accused of manipulating the cryptocurrency market and prices, fraud, unfair business practices, money laundering and illegal fund-raising activities.
