Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast, a popular YouTuber, has become a verified publisher on Brave, a decentralized web browser. Batgrowth.com bot unveiled this news via a tweet on January 6, noting that the YouTuber has more than 50.2 million subscribers. Through this move, MrBeast has joined Brave’s growing number of verified publishers. In turn, he has exposed his followers to the browser and its native token dubbed Basic Attention Token (BAT).

The BRAVE community on Twitter was bullish on this news, with some predicting that it could see BAT surge significantly. Some went as far as tipping Donaldson in BAT to usher him into the Brave world.
At the time of writing, BAT is trading at ?0.2017 after gaining 19.61% over the past 24 hours. The coin has a daily volume of ?206,627,585 and is ranked #60 on CoinMarketCap’s top-100 list of leading cryptocurrencies regarding marketing capitalization. It currently has a market cap of ?299,064,178, and with MrBeast joining the growing number of verified Brave browser publishers, this figure could rise further.
Not a crypto newbie
Reportedly, MrBeast is not unaccustomed to crypto and is believed to have made a fortune after investing in cryptocurrencies. The star used to host videos discussing crypto before the popularity of his YouTube channel swelled to the current levels. Apart from this, he allegedly used proceeds from his crypto investments to purchase a BMW i8 worth more than ?73,670. However, he decided to rid his account of any crypto-related content.
Another instance that exposed Donaldson’s involvement in the crypto market was when he made an appearance on KEEMSTAR’s ‘Mom’s Basement’ podcast and unveiled that he almost lost his BTC after burglars broke into his house. In the interview, he noted that he was fortunate enough to recover the funds and moved them to a different wallet.
This news comes after Brave’s popularity rose over the past two years, charming almost 1 million renowned people into becoming verified publishers. The number of verified publishers on different platforms is as follows, YouTube 528,951, Websites 69,764, Twitter 126,815, Twitch 70,026, Reddit 83,066, GitHub 28,636, and 84,752 on Vimeo. The platform currently has 24.1 million active monthly users and 7.8 million daily active users.
