We’ve seen the power blockchain has to persuade investors lately.
Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin formed his team and launched ETH in 2014. Before launching Ethereum, Vitalik gained exposure working on several Bitcoin related projects, outlining some aspects that could be improved which later motivated him to launch his own platform. In the first few years ETH only got up to $0.3, but rose to $800 during the 2017 bull run and peaked around $1500 since then, before settling to a much lower average. Now it's hovering around the $350 mark.
Many have predicted Ethereum would break the $10.000 price mark, bringing valid arguments to the table. But there are some roadblocks to overcome before that will happen, the biggest right now being scalability. While ETH 2.0 should address this, it's not entirely sure it will solve it completely.
However, if ETH 2.0 solves the scalability problem and some of the others that the devs are working on, the amount of demand should push Ether prices up significantly, quite possibly over the $10.000 line. Given these arguments, I would say it's just a matter of time before it will reach $10.000 but to say when is very difficult.
