Why many big companies choose Instagram for marketing

Do repost and rate:

Instagram was launched back in 2010 making it now 10 years old. It is not that much if it is something else but for an app that is pretty good, especially when you have in mind the success of this social media. Instagram says that they have 1 billion monthly active users, making it one of the most used social media out there. Instagram was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger but Mark Zukerberg the CEO of Facebook bought it for 1 billion just 18 months after it was released.

Instagram was quickly growing, more and more popular individuals and big companies were joining bringing their followers to this platform.

You might think why is Instagram so popular and why big companies are choosing it!

In this post I'll be covering some of the most interesting topics.

It's very cheap to promote a business

First things first, Instagram, Facebook and Youtube share the very same algorithm when it comes to marketing, that is a very good thing if a company wants to promote their business or a product. Why? To make it stupid simple, if you look up for something the metadata that gets collected will be analyzed by the algorithm and you'll receive ads based on what you like. Which means your promotion is quite unlikely to be seen by people that are not interested in the product you are willing to sell.

Instagram advertising costs between $0.20 to $6.70 even though they recommend to start the promotion with no less than 10$ but again it's all up to you. For CPC or cost-per-click, advertisers pay $0.20 to $2 per click. For CPM, or cost-per-impressions, advertisers pay $6.70 per 1000 impressions.

It's very likely that IG users will buy your product!

Looking at the analyze you can see that during 2014-2015 done on user engagement with brands, Instagram blows other platforms by a huge percentage.  As researches go further it's found out that at least  ? of Instagram users have used the app to purchase a product online. We mentioned that Instagram has 1 billion monthly active users, 1/3 of that is 333,333,333 Instagram users that have used Instagram to purchase a product online.

How do Instagram promotions work?

As I mentioned above their algorithm is superb. Let me talk you further into it.

There is this thing called retargeting, it means targeting people again who have somehow already seen or heard of your brand and business.

How it is done? Usually retargeting is targeting your website visitors who have checked for your brand or business and then leading them to you to make the purchase.

Trackability

Insights as called by Instagram, shows clear information on which product is clicked more, how many times it is saved by users, send to others and other very helpful data which can guide you and help you know what products are being wanted by users out there. But not only this, you can also see which audience is more interested in your products, where do they come from, what age are they, what sex and further details.

Visual Appearance

When it comes to reading many people are just too lazy for that! So this is why once TV shops were sky rocketing on sales, in TV shops people could see and here what a product can do and how to use it, then they called to buy it.

But now, in the times when people are quite busy and living a dynamic life less and less people are watching TV. The average adults spends at least 2 hours on social media, not reading but scrolling mostly. The most powerful feature of Instagram here is that there are no huge description just photos. Most influencers that have millions of followers and also brands can immediately link the products to certain websites where you can order the products...no need to call anyone, no need to talk to anyone, your order is just a few taps away. So in a way if there are not much metadata on collected by you another way of selling is buy Instagram Influencers who usually get the products for free or if they are very popular get a contract to take some photos with their products... so yeap, as they say "Ads are getting smarter".

Have you ever bought from Instagram?
