Technically, ETH has broken its old-old high like twice. The last time, ether peeked its head at around $1450, a technical all-time high, then immediately retreated back to $1300.
This type of behavior seems algorithmic. I have never seen an ATH come up to the point to the dollar twice only to immediately turn around. There are traders in this market who are playing on the volatility between $1250 and $1450 as much as they can to increase their ETH holdings before the big breakout.
However, ether is still making higher highs every time it turns back. The chart looks like an ascending staircase that keeps knocking on the skyline. Traditional technical analysis tells us that the breakout is coming soon.
However, we probably won't get that breakout until it absolutely has to occur. As in, these pullbacks are going to get tighter and tighter until every last lowball seller has been knocked out of the market. At that point, there will only be institutional buyers and whales who are investing in the future of Ethereum, which is worth far more than $1450 per coin. That's when we all get rich.
So if you aren't bot trading or staying up all night to play the volatility, just hold. It might seem like a long time, but when that breakout happens, it's going to seem like it's overnight. That's crypto for ya. Wait, wait, wait, wait, BOOM! XD XD XD
