Bitcoin is inches close to $60,000 and it feels like yesterday we could have picked it at a mere $4k per coin. It's a tremendous asset and even if it's a bubble, as some say, it's the bubble of all bubbles imo and a hell of a one. That's not the case of course, so lets play a game this evening. At some point in time the dollar valuation of it will be simply pointless, but we're far away from that so why not check its value in real life, in our own countries and economies. Hence I am sharing with you guys in here what one Bitcoin can buy in my country, Romania.
Although real estate has skyrocketed in the area due to the high demand of land parcels used for building guesthouses for tourists, you can still put your hands on some 1500 square meters of land near the Danube with one BTC. I know someone who recently bought about 2000 square meters with $80,000.
If you're not into real estate business than you can definitely buy yourself a one bedroom apartment in almost any city of Romania by spending one BTC for that. I have already detailed in a previous post the fact that some people are willing to accept BTC as payment for all sort of goods in my country so you might find one willing to accept the trade.
What else can you buy with one ounce of the digital gold?
Two Romanian SUVs, talking about the Dacia Duster in here that can be bought for that amount of money and I doubt you can have such a deal with any other SUV around the world. The Dacia is a decent car by the way and quite reliable and you can buy two such SUVs with one Bitcoin.
If you don't plan on buying stuff with it, and don't like work too much either, than Bitcoin priced at current levels can buy you about three years of living in this country without the need to work. Nothing fancy, but quite a decent life in the Eastern European country.
Now this is something you wouldn't expect, but if you're planning to get married twice this lifetime than one BTC should be enough to cover the spending for both such events in my country. There are weddings that get to millions when it comes to how expensive everything can get, but I've taken into account a quite average one when pricing two for one BTC.
I mentioned above that you can buy yourself three years of laziness with one BTC, but if you're not a lazy one you should know one Bitcoin can pay for eleven years of rent, in a one bedroom apartment, in almost any city in the country. I've lived in two of the biggest ones a few years ago and have a clue about the prices.
Living in a touristic area, where boat cruises are a thing, I do know that around $24,000 can buy you a boat cruise that can be the start of your business in this field, hence spending one BTC for the matter it will buy you two of them and you'll have high chances to take half of investment of the table after one year. There's a lot of sweating involved in here though.
The list could go further, but I guess you've got yourself an idea of what the intrinsic value of one Bitcoin is in Romania. We're living in a relatively cheap country and you can notice that from the BTC pricings I've shared above.
