Froms Rags to Riches or in other words how I'm progressing to becoming a Starbits Millionaire!

As a quick summary, I started blogging about RisingStar at the end of August 2021 and decided to chart my progress to becoming a Starbits Millionaire.
It's not rocket science but in short what is the quest - the quest is to bank 1,000,000 starbits and get the Starbits Millionaire Card! Primarily as a free to play player but if I find a pocket of crypto floating around I might just speed up the process too!
Metrics
Apart from the obvious - having completed the goal or not, metrics will be a bit tricky for the game. For now I'm going with the following:
- Missions completed - I managed to do 64 missions this week. As I am doing a lot of the Saturday Headline Act mission which takes 3 hours a pop I think doing close to 10 Missions a day is not too bad. I am basically doing that mission plus a Singing Lesson and then a small filler mission before I use a Pizza to refill energy and repeat the process.
- Cards owned - Picked up another four cards, only one of them unique and thats one I purchased a couple of (more on this later).
- Starbits - Starbits have only gone up by 1,753 starbits BUT I did buy two cards (more on this later) costing 10,000 starbits each so the progress could look a whole lot better.
- Skill/Fans/Ego - These are all going up, slowly but surely. I am having to do a few music lessons when I can to keep a buffer of around 200 Skill over Ego to ensure I keep earning maximum Starbits.
Current Strategy and considerations
As alluded to above, my current strategy is to run the Headline Act mission from Act 1 (100% energy cost, Three hour time taken) as often as possible. If energy is short I'll run a music lesson instead and then a Act 2 Radio Interview to kill energy to 0. Then it's Pizza time.
And this is where there is a really important tip - Cold Pizza Slices are Awesome! I didn't realise this but the Pizza Boxes & Discarded Pizza that fill them are not the same as the Cold Pizza Card. The cold Pizza Card is a gift that keeps on giving... basically each Cold Pizza Slice card gives you a 100% energy refill every 24 hours. With just few of these you can do limitless missions really. Currently they sell for about 10,000 starbits each and I bought two this week. One thing I must say is big thanks to @mimismartypants who pointed this out to me.
I had previously invested in three Pizza Boxes so with the Two Cold Pizza Slices I am probably quite well set up for energy unless I really spend some time doing lots of missions. I will see how things go for now and maybe invest in one or two more Cold Pizza slices if I find energy is an issue.
Some questions I had last week are as follows:
- Which missions are the best from an efficiency perspective and does it matter for me given I'll be playing casually mostly? I still don't know for sure but it definitely feels like the Saturday Headline Act Mission is better from a Starbits perspective so I'll probably keep running that one for now.
- Is it better to get three random cards from a pack or to save and buy specific cards on the market? Again, not sure on what's best here but I'll probably just hold Starbits for now. I can choose to buy packs anytime so even if I just bank the Starbits for now I can change my mind later.
- Is three pizza boxes sufficient (I have three at the moment)? Augumented with the two Cold Pizza Slices I think so - thought I may buy one or two more Pizza slices just to be sure.
- Will I be able to manage my "Ego" rating using this process or will I have to do more music lessons to keep up? So far so good - if I do on Headline Act mission and One music lesson I find my Ego and Skill stay steady with about a 200 point buffer as long as you're careful.
