A key failing of the Beta is to fall for a false dichotomy. Are you for us or against us? Black or White? Republican or Democrat? Communist or Fascist... and finally, the worst dichotomy of all: buy and sell. It seems so foolproof: I have no ABCoin, so I can buy some, I have some ABCoin so I can sell it or keep it. But the truth is, as usual, a bit more complicated. To see crypto or any other asset as something you can only buy or sell mentally traps you at a given moment. What the green and red buttons do not tell you, but which is obvious is: buy NOW or sell NOW, not later today, not tomorrow, NOW. That is the key point you need to remember when identifying a beta, the beta lives in the present, has poor memory and planning. The Sigma lives according to plan, to THE plan of the Sigma's own making. That is why mature markets for veterans of investing, like traditional stock markets, propose a host of options that the short-attention-spanned Beta can't even read about with comprehension. Sigmas will do his research and use such fine tools as the trailing stop or the MIT, since he often has plans for the market, not just in the market, while the Beta has plans next to the market, flailing desperately to hodl until he can sell and buy a new iButtPlug or to catch a falling knife to "sell the peak" that will never come, because the volume has dropped to 20 dollars a day... A sad post scriptum to those musings is that the crypto market is highly immature, most exchanges only offer a 'Market' order, with a simple stop being some ultra perk, rare to find and confusing to the mob that just wants to react to the most recent trend and buy/sell accordingly. Those of you who have access to standard investing tools no doubt make good use of them, you who do not... better find a way to get hold of them, either through software or brokerage. If you can't manage to do any of this, at least cultivate the mindset brought to you by different order types. Breaking away from the false dichotomy of Buy/Sell will free you from the tyranny of the moment.
