The Crypto_Gam3r Blog: Splinterlands New Reward Card Release Market Tracker

Greetings Gamers!

Yesterday Splinterlands released an update which brought new reward cards for daily and season chests. You can read my original post on the topic here. I have found the initial affect on the market prices intriguing and thought I would start to document the rise and fall of their market value. I will post the results once per week.

Initial Thoughts:

My initial thoughts were that since they are minting so many of these new cards, and there is a high chance of getting one in your daily or season rewards chests, the value should be considerably lower than older releases. However, out of the GATE we are seeing some pretty high sell prices compared to the last release of rewards cards. I suspect these are inflated due to the excitement of having new cards in the mix, but the data as I track them will really tell the story.

There has been an overall decrease in prices over the last two weeks. For example the lowest market prices were around $0.28 ten days ago and now we are seeing Chain Spinner, Charlok Minotaur, Harvester and Demented Shark consistently selling between $0.16 and $0.20.

I personally bought a Battering Ram with DEC earnings four days ago on 9/10 for $0.98, and it is now listed at $0.69. So we are seeing an approximate 30% decrease in value in the overall market.

Is this decrease in value a trend that will continue? I personally don't believe so. As I've said in my other posts, I still think that now is a good opportunity to get some of these early release cards before the amount of payers dramatically increases over the next year.

But, alas that's why I started this blog. To document my progress in earnings casually playing these games and to track current earnings trends. So, without wasting anymore typing, here is a look at the starting market prices for each of the new cards:

Common Cards:

Rare Cards:

Epic Cards:

Legendary Cards:

Conclusion:

As you can see these cards are selling for a pretty high price to start. I will personally be selling any common cards I receive as I believe the price will go down. I will use the earnings on those cards to buy older releases that will help me win in-game and increase my profits.

Stay tuned in the coming days for my Week 5 Splinterlands update.
