Sunflower Land's newest season has begun today. The name of the season is Witches' Eve. This season adds a bunch of new ideas into the game. The first is the crop, which takes 19 hours to grow, putting it behind eggplant for growing time. There will be season NFT boosts to earn in game which can boost your growing potential for corn. The majority of these are purchased using the season currency, which are crow feathers. You can find all the new boosts for the season in the documentation page. One of my personal favourites is Poppy, he gives +0.1 to corn. There are many types of seasonal NFTs. There will be much more auction based ways to get NFTs which will add some competitiveness to the game
The second concept has really changed how part of the game is played. The team has released Pumpkin Plaza into open beta. Pumpkin Plaza is a large open MMO style world. The majority of vendors have moved here from Helios so it's required to visit there to play the game. Pumpkin Plaza has you walk around and talk to NPCs using your bumpkin, which is a large change from the point and click style from before. The largest impact this has is on the job board, because before you could easily turn in a quest within a few seconds, now requires you to connect to pumpkin plaza and wander until you find the right NPC to hand in the quest to. This process can be frustrating especially since there was not a lot of instruction on how to do this, and there has been technical difficulties, so disconnects occur. Leaving many players frustrated
They have also moved "HaySeed Hank" which used to give one chore to complete, and now gives multiple a day. I do not know a way to see his quests without going to Pumpkin Plaza. It also appears his tasks are the same for each day. Overall this new area has not been well received by the community. The developers are very respective to feedback so we will see how the area changes as the season progresses.
The last area they added is the corn maze. This is found by talking to an NPC named Luna in the center of Pumpkin Plaza. In the maze you will find crow feathers. There are 25 in the current maze and I would think the layout will change from week to week. You have the entire week to perfect your run and get all 25 before time runs out. Each time you do better you get the season currency based on how many additional feathers you collect during that attempt. You can retry as many times as you'd like but will only get more currency if you did better than your weekly best run of collected feathers. In the maze there are enemy NPC which when touching you will remove one "life" you have three per run before loosing. In the future there will be a charge for entering the corn maze, but it is currently free.
