Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenges - As always a lot of fun so here's my entry for the week!

First things first, feel free to just go to their website directly but if SPLINTERLANDS interests you I'd be very happy if you joined up with my referral link:

Dragons - dragons are an interesting splinter in the game and so is this challenge.  In short it's a use the dragon splinter challenge.  Why is the dragon splinter interesting? - because you use Dragons (obviously) AND the splinter of your choice (of those available for that match).  This could provide some interesting options if you had a few dragon cards (of which I don't have many!)

I do have a couple of dragon cards however, Brighton Bloom (rented for its flying perk), Kretch Tallevor (no bonus but allows higher level cards even at level 1) and the following legendary (I was so happy to get a legendary when this popped up as a chest reward!)

This card is a great tank (albeit mana costly)- very high armor and life, fast, three attack and void armor/divine shield on top!  I don't get to use him often but I'm happy to have him when I can!

So to the challenge:

The Battle

This battle had a cap of 22 with no added rules.  An alright mana cap but will be hard to use with my dragons.

Summoner was Brighton Bloom - Four mana cost eats at my quota but it's a dragon challenge!  The Flying ability will give some additional protection vs melee/ranged which is nice but otherwise not too exciting (it is fun to have this on Earthquake rule battles!).  I chose death as the splinter as well.

Robo-Dragon Knight at the front (of course at the front!).  The flying ability gives him some extra defense which is nice.

Not much mana cap left, I had to choose between a strong expensive card or smaller cards.  I went with strength and chose:

Ancient Lich in slot two - Flying would give him some defense vs ranged hopefully and if he can get a few shots off his life should go up so between the Robo Dragon and him they could be quite the handful!

The opponent went with a Life team and Mother Khala as his summoner.

Shieldbearer in front (for taunt).

Divine healer in slot two to heal Shield Bearer

PeaceKeeper for the two ranged attack in slot three.

Cocatrice in slot four (not sure what the point of that was, just a filler?)

Herbalist in slot five to fill in the slots with 1 ranged attack.

Enchanted Pixie in slot five - a filler magic attacker

And on to the battle:

Turn One: Shield Bearer, Peacekeeper and Herbalist takes out my Robo-Dragon Knights (RDK) Divine shield and chip at his armor.  Ancient Lich dishes out some damage to Shield Bearer and gets some life, RDK chips at Shield Bearers Armor.  Divine Healer heals Shield Bearer but not as much as Ancient Liches damage.

Turn Two - More of the same as Turn One - at the end of this Shield Bearer is out of armor.  Shield Bearer is taking damage courtesy of Ancient Lich who now has seven life.

Turn Three - Repeat turns One and Two but now Shield Bearer is taking big damage from both RDK and Ancient Lich and Divine healer cant mitigate it all!  RDK has no armor now, Shield Bearer is down to seven life, Ancient Lich is up to nine.  Flying ability helps me out and RDK ends the turn with Seven life thanks to a miss from Herbalist.

Turn Four - A miss from Shield Bearer (yay for flying) but Peacekeeper and Herbalist take RDK down to four life.  Shield Bearer is hanging in there with four life but wont survive much longer.  Ancient Lich is into double figures now with 11 life.

Turn Five - Misses from PeaceKeeper and Herbalist.  Shield Bearer dies but does get a hit on RDK who now has two life.  Ancient Lich keeps growing to 12 life.

Turn Six - PeaceKeeper and Herbalist miss again.  Divine Healer goes down. RDK is still there with two life and Ancient Lich is up to 13 Life - the battle is all but over now.

Turn Seven - PeaceKeeper starts at the front and cant attack.  Dies to RDK and Lich to start the round. Cocatrice misses it's turn as it wasn't up front so couldn't attack.  Herbalist takes RDK to one life.

Turn Eight - Cocatrice goes down to RDK which puts Herbalist at the front so he cant attack and he dies to Ancient Lich.

And that's a wrap, Challenge Done, Battle Won!  A fun battle - it can be tough winning with just two cards but these were strong and did the job!
