Currencies are; ZAP, AAVE, BAND, UBT, CVT and YFI. The first two on this list - ZAP and AAVE - left the rest behind with high percentages of 6,000% and 4,000% each.
Two coins increased by more than 4,000%
ZAP - a cryptocurrency that operates on the Ethereum platform - has achieved the highest percentage increase in the year so far. At the beginning of the year, the price of ZAP was almost negligible at $ 0.002, but now it is costing $ 0.111. This means that the asset has reached a percentage increase of more than 6,300% in the year so far.
The Aave token, AAVE, comes in second. Aave is a decentralized finance protocol (DeFi) that allows people to borrow and borrow different cryptography. The protocol token - currently priced at less than $ 80 - started the year at $ 0.018. This means that the price of AAVE has increased 4,288% this year.
The remaining four cryptographic assets all increased by over 2,000%. The Band Protocol's BAND token comes in third, behind ZAP and AAVE by a large margin.
The BAND saw its price rise from $ 3.90 on July 27 to $ 14.10 on August 10. Its price then fell to the $ 6 range in October, and has stabilized since then.
Currently priced at $ 6.54, the BAND recorded a price increase of 2.727% this year, since it started quoted at $ 0.236.
Just behind the BAND is Unibright's UBT token, which works to integrate blockchain technology with existing businesses. UBT currently costs $ 0.530, with a market value of just under $ 79 million. Since January 1, the price of UBT has increased 2,665%.
CyberVein's CVT token is in fifth place. CyberVein is a big data service provider that provides smart city solutions worldwide. CVT opened the year at $ 0.005, meaning that its current price of $ 0.012 represents an increase of 2,295% since January 1.
The Yearn Finance YFI token is the last one on the list. YFI is the main governance token for the Yearn Finance network of DeFi products, and is the only token on this list that did not exist at the beginning of the year.
YFI commands the largest market capitalization of all these cryptocurrencies, with a total of $ 745 million to date.
Having been launched in July 2020, YFI was launched at a price of just over $ 1,000. Since then, it has generated a lot of attention in the DeFi market, with a price increase to $ 43,000 in September.
Its current price, however, is $ 24,743, which is almost half its highest historical value. But YFI has remained expensive enough to qualify as a cryptocurrency that has increased by more than 2,000% this year. At the moment, the percentage increase in YFI is 2,141%.
