Since the start of the New Year, I have gained several hundred more followers pushing me to over 2,000! This number alone honestly just blows my mind as I never would have dreamed in a million years that I would be successful in this to this level! As I am sure people have realized I write as I talk and while that might not be the way I am supposed to do it (I was a kid that would get C's on all my English essays growing up) I feel it is more relatable and easier to understand especially in an area that can be so complex like cryptocurrency and blockchain!
One of the big reasons I think I have been able to stick out and carve out a little niche as I have is because of my job and the positions it puts me in. Many writers on PUBLISH0X are like me and do this as a side hustle or to spread news for me it is a little bit of both. While I won't ever exactly say who I work for or for what Committee because I really enjoy my privacy my main job/day job is working for a Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the United States Congress.
Because of this position, I feel really it is a right or job of mine to try and communicate to the crypto community what is really going on behind the scenes in Congress. Committees are the driving force in the creation of legislation as we are the ones who take the idea and really translate that idea into a bill which could result in either a directive for an agency like the SEC or a change in the law! It is an amazing thing to see all of these working parts that not many people get to see and honestly kind of leaves us Committee staff feeling a little underappreciated. Earlier last week I believe I wrote that I would be posting updates soon about what the talk of the town is and not just regurgitating what the loudmouths the news often reports on.
This week has been complete chaos though due to my Committee moving offices and even having our first hearing/business meeting. Unlike other hearings/business meetings that cover a topic, this one was more or less a legal formality that has to occur to "create" the Committee. During this move we had things go missing, people losing access to things, and generally just setting up office issues resulting in me working 12-13 hour days and even having work break into my dreams. Luckily though a ton of heavy lifting has been knocked out and while I will be laying low and recovering this weekend I have been taking note of the topics I will be writing about and posting these next few days!
Believe it or not, there has not been much in terms of concrete steps or plans when it comes to crypto hearings and legislation ideas even but the whispers are picking up. With this being my third year now of working on The Hill I do feel like the people who have talked to me and what they have talked about is enough to start patching together a rough idea of the current situation. My goal moving forward that I hope to accomplish will be to write at least once a week on what is going on what the talk of the town is and to even break down hearings or legislation that has occurred. I hope you guys and gals are as excited as I am for this and stay tuned for the first post in this series!
