Lubi stanowiska pol cieniste, niektore gatunki sloneczne, ale wszystkie wymagaja sporej wilgotnosci gleby. Jest roslina dlugowieczna, a przede wszystkim miododajna.

Wszystkie gatunki funkii maja podobne i piekne kwiaty, ale roznia sie ulistowieniem. Liscie sa duze, sercowate ale kolor moga miec rozny. Od zielonego, seledynowego, do szarego, poprzez bialy i kremowy. Kwiaty natomiast maja barwe biala lub fioletowa.

Piekne kielichowate kwiaty pojawiaja sie wlasnie w tym okresie, czyli w lipcu, ale u niektorych gatunkow pojawiaja sie dopiero jesienia.
