Pros & Cons of Presearch: Sticking with Google most of the time

Do repost and rate:

I've read tons of your PUBLISH0X articles and I've also convinced myself to use Presearch. It has been an eye opener for me with their advantages of earning tokens while looking for nice articles to read by searching via DSearch. I've used DSearch for the past five months and thought I'll write my opinion about the comparison, and why I still feel Google stands out in many ways.

Let's start off with the pros of Presearch.

1) Earn tokens while searching.

Need no introduction, but for those who never used it before, it's very simple. Use DSearch to search for anything, and you'll earn 0.25PRE per search up to 32 searches, which is a maximum of 8 PRE per day. Multiply with the price today ($0.014 in 28/9/2020), you'll earn $0.112 per day, subjected to price fluctuations. Do this for a month, and you'll get more or less $3.36 per month to search for stuff, which is not much but hey, it's free money!

2) Keyword staking

I feel like this is a more important feature than earning PRE tokens. You choose a keyword that most people would search, and then you stake a minimum of 1000 PRE tokens for that keyword. Whenever someone types in that keyword, your ad will appear first on the search webpage! The trick is to not look for common words to stake such as Bitcoin, Ethereum etc, or else you'll really have to fork out a fortune to get your ad to be displayed on top.

On top was an example of searching for the keyword Bitcoin. 3 million PRE tokens, that's $42,014. I rather use those money to earn interests. So what's the alternative? Well, since I'm from Malaysia, why not I try a keyword that is more popular in Malaysia, for example "Lazada"?

Lazada is one of the most popular online shopping platform in Malaysia similar to an Amazon in the U.S. Even though Shopee has 2.2 times more monthly visitors than Lazada during Q1 2020, the numbers still stand at 36.96 million visitors, which is also fueled by the lockdowns that we had in Malaysia previously due to COVID-19. If you want to advertise something that targets Malaysian viewers, you're in luck.

Nobody has staked that keyword yet! Or what about the keyword "Shopee"?

Also zero! Which means if you Google "Lazada" using Chrome, this is what you get.

Now switch to DSearch and this is the result:

If you owned a small company and would like to advertise your products with your link, stake the keyword that you want and your ad will appear on the section that says "Want Free Traffic?". Conversely, you won't get a chance for your ad to be displayed in Google anytime soon. Now I'm just a casual blogger myself, so this feature doesn't really hbenefit me much, so you can sign up here if you would like to try it. Feel free to also look for articles such as this for more information. You can search via DSearch and look for instructions on how to stake keywords in PRESEARCH and you can earn yourself your first 0.25PRE.

The downside is that very few Malaysians are aware of Presearch, which makes staking keyword for an ad useless if your target audience is based in Malaysia. I actually did try to buy 1000 PRE tokens myself to put my CRYPTO.COM referral link onto the Lazada keyword, and I managed to get 2 users to click my ad, which sadly didn't end up getting my referral bonus. In the end, I pulled my stake out, converted it back to USDT and use those money to earn interests elsewhere. However, the marketing exposure from keyword staking will benefit a lot of small businesses and I applaud the Presearch team for implementing this great idea.

Alright, now on to the cons of Presearch.

1) Search results is slow.

Now if you use Google search engine long enough, you'll realize the results generated from Presearch is much slower than Google.

This is how fast one search from Google I can get. Since DSearch doesn't show how fast is the search result, so I measured the time with a stopwatch and got an average of 7 seconds. If you're someone who is very sensitive on the speed of search results, 0.5 seconds and 7 seconds do actually make a difference, especially if you're looking for something for your work and you need to search for information consecutively and swiftly, Google is still a better search engine for that. However, if that's not of your concern, DSearch does a good enough job to get you the results you need.

2) Widgets

This is a big downside for DSearch. One of the best reasons I love using Google search engine is that I can search for restaurants, places to go, doing a simple conversion from Celsius to Fahrenheit (because we use Celsius in Malaysia), or a quick translation from English to German, Google is hands down more user friendly in that category. Imagine looking for an unknown "kopitiam" (it means a coffee shop in Malaysia) that you want to try, where you can see the reviews, operating hours, a telephone number to book for an appointment and an easy access to Google Maps by clicking Directions, without the hassle of clicking the links. DSearch is still far away from achieving this.

3) PRE verification level.

Now this is something I don't fully understand. You can read more here. In summary, when you first joined Presearch, your verification level starts with Level 5. The level fluctuates according to how you use the search engine. If you spam the search engine for the sake of the rewards (for example, asdasjkh as one search, or maybe jfknrjfr in another search), you'll obtain the 0.5 PRE, but Presearch will know this and decrease your level. Let's say you dropped your level to 3, you can only withdraw 30% of your tokens when you accumulated a minimum of 1000 PRE tokens for the withdrawal. This is a great thing for Presearch. For me, I've worked my way up to level 8 because I followed the terms and conditions carefully and I didn't hit the maximum daily reward limit most of the time, but somehow got dropped to level 7 while searching the web normally without any reason why, and it stayed there for more than a month so I'm only qualified to withdraw 70% of my earnings. I'm actually doing the same things to achieve PRE level 8 with what I'm doing now, so I'm a bit annoyed that I'm only 1 level away from withdrawing the full amount!

In a nut shell, I'll still use DSearch to obtain most of my search results. Though I do miss and would be much preferred to use Google for ultra fast results and the user friendly widgets, so a lot of times I would switch to Google. However, I'm all for Presearch and their goals to privatize our personal data and value us by rewarding us with their tokens for searching their platform. I do hope widgets will be introduced on the Presearch platform, but I don't think my wish will ever be come true soon according to their roadmap.
