Roubini also suggested that after the investment, bitcoin will collapse. He linked it to a possible conviction against Tether and Bitfinex this year. The trial is still ongoing.
The economist also expressed his position on fiat: he believes that America will soon switch to the "electronic dollar" and that digital currencies of central banks will increase the effectiveness of monetary policy, including by introducing negative interest rates during crises.
