Not a Review for Gemini Exchange

Do repost and rate:

I initiated the idea of Unbook Review for my Instagram account the other day. Basically, it refers to me posting my expectations and thoughts prior to reading a book. Ironically, my Unbook Review for "Goodbye, Things" scored more likes than any of my actual book reviews. So I guess that as long as you write about something people are already interested in, they are likely to strike a chord with your content and give a thumbs-up.

So today, I want to extend this idea further and do an UnReview for Gemini Exchange. What are the disadvantages of this world-renowned exchange that potential users should use out for? But of course, I'm just gonna leave my referral code here should anyone of you wish to give it a try: https://www.gemini.com/share/ppkd6ra39

1) Hottest coins not available

Gemini constantly introduces new offerings to its platform. As recent as September 17, 2021, it sent an announcement that stated how it added 6 tokens for trading, namely Axie Infinity, Smooth Love Portion, Terra, Moss Carbon Credit, TerraUSD. UST, LUNA and AXS were even available on Gemini Earn. Then, just two days ago, it hyped up users' expectations by declaring how it was looking into adding Audius, Quant, Mask Network, Radicle, API3, ASH, SuperRare, Wrapped Centrifuge, XYO Network, Fetch AI and Numeraire. It didn't give any promises but seemed to suggest that some of these tokens might be supported on Gemini in due time.

However, this was not really well received by some users as they complained the rationale for Gemini Exchange not addingpopular coins like ADA, SOL, XRP, VET and DOT. Not to mention how prominent stablecoins like USDC and USDT are not listed on Gemini as well. Hence, depending on your portfolio, you may be frustrated by the limited array of Gemini's offerings.

2) Lethargic customer service

I'm on the official Gemini Telegram channel, and it seems that a user would try to seek attention to his plight through the comments section, grumbling about how his emails to customer service have gone unanswered. I have not interacted much with customer service myself but instances of such customer complaints have occurred frequently enough to make me form the impression that the customer service team from Gemini is probably not the most responsive. This may impact your decision as to whether to invest more heavily with Gemini Exchange.

3) Limited crypto-fiat pairings

Perhaps Gemini is new in Singapore but I was surprised the other day to learn that I couldn't convert Litecoin to SGD directly. Because I was desperate to get hold of cold hard cash, I converted Litecoin to ETH first before selling ETH in exchange for Singapore dollars. To its credit, Gemini didn't impose an exorbitant trading fee, so I was satisfied enough with what I eventually received. But this may be a pain point for those of you who have larger crypto portfolios?

I guess this goes to show that nothing is perfect in this world. What are your pain points with Gemini? In any case, there is a need for us to sign up with multiple crypto platforms out there because there's no one platform that can address our every need. How many crypto exchanges do you use, and which is your favourite exchange?
