In my Crypto journey I have done a lot of learning. In fact thanks to different resources like Youtube channels I even learnt how to differentiate between good Crypto educators and informers and basically straight up scammers. So how do I identify a good Crypto educator and informer? Firstly, by watching their content and seeing what they promote. A Crypto Youtuber that incessantly publishes and promotes altcoins and meme coins with no fundamentals is a first red flag. In addition, the due-dilligence and reaserch work behind the claims in the video must be evident. Social networks require publishers to disclose if the coins or projects they are promoting are paid ads, but not every Youtuber discloses this information. Moreover, they can just shill the coin through a referral link so it does not have to be a "formal" one-to-one relationship with the project nor its owners. Having said that, I am not against Youtubers earning money for their efforts, I just don?t trust nor follow those that purely share a project because of a direct personal gain...and ladies and gents, Youtube is crawling with the latter. Without further ado, let?s get into my list of favorite Youtubers, who I believe deliver value and entertainment.
My first choice is Guy from Crypto Bureau. Guy is based in London and his channel currently has more than a million followers. He deserves this number of followers because of the quality and consistency of his videos. I first came accross Guy?s youtube channel when he made the step-by-step video guide Crypto exchange. The average duration of his videos is 20 minutes and he deep dives into the topic of his videos. He also shares his sources and you can clearly understand where and how his opinions are found. Before I forget, it is important to mention that one of his signature "acts" in his videos are his disclamers right at the beginning. He made a point to create creative, out-of-the box disclaimers in order to drive the message that HE IS NOT A FINANCIAL ADVISER, and that everyone MUST do their own research and come to their own conclusions. If you receive his newsletter you will also see the breakdown of his own portfolio so you see which projects he has invested in. Guy is perfect for those who are new to Crypto as well as advanced investors and traders because he explains concepts well, backed by research which he reveals and using lots of examples. Another fact, that increased my trust of Guy and his content was when he publicly separated himself from a shilling attempt by the Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan on Twitter. In my mind, though Guy himself is an influencer in the Crypto space, the fact that he publicly denied involvement which Lindsay Lohan was shadily trying to link and claim was endorsed by him and other Crypto influencers (see Tweet below), demonstrated his intergrity. You can follow or check out Guy?s Coin Bureau on Instagram, , Telegram. He is so prolific that he even opened channels for Spanish speakers as well as Japanese speakers on Youtube.
My second favorite Crypto Youtuber is Andrei Jikh. His channel is about finance but he has been producing a lot of Crypto related content lately. His catch phrase is loosely stated as "Come for the magic, stay for the finance tips..."His channel is very entertaining as you can imagine, because as a now retired magician, he cleverly incorporates magic tricks into his videos. One of my favorite videos was him interviewing the self-declared Dogecoin millionairre. It was round about the time Doge was pumping thanks to Elon Musks tweets and his pending appearance on Saturday Night Live. In fact, Andrei together with another Finance Youtuber Stephen Graham, tried to convince him to cash out. He didn?t and subsequently lost the gains as Dogecoin and other dog meme coins plummeted. This next Youtuber, is more like the ombudsperson of the Crypto world AKA Crypto?s Detective Coffeezilla. The Crypto space has so many scammers, influencer and celebrity shillers, rug-pullers and a long list of shady characters that it is important to have someone in the role of Coffeezilla. I wrote an article about avoiding typical Crypto scams. Coffeezilla has exposed many scammers who exploit their Youtube popularity as influencers to scam their followers. In fact, if you watch Coffeezilla?s channel you will soon learn ( wisely so) to be cynical when a celebrity from the Kardashians, to the Paul brothers and even former first lady, Melania Trump post about their "new exciting project" (see below).
In addition, Coffeezilla collaborates with other like-minded "whistle-blowers" in elaborate investigative reports to show just how deep the rabbit hole goes. One of the things I appreciate from his channel is how he simply unpacks BS- projects with no future nor real value that gain attention just because they have a recognizable face singing their praises. He has helped me to understand that in a world of "money grabbers" there are no political ideologies as well as, the real and urgent need to have laws that protect investors. It is precisely because of the many loopholes in Crypto trade, promotion and information that many tricksters take advantage of the increased exposure and publicity of these new digital and decentralised assets. In conclusion, there are many great Youtubers with intergrity, but there is a grey line between their own interest and the low hanging fruit opportunity of simply using their clout and influence to earn quick bucks. In addition, there is an inherent criminality, similar to "insider trading" which is fortunately regulated by law,HOWEVER for now Youtubers or influencers can promote a project they know themselves is at best worth ZERO with "impunity". So be watchful, dilligent, extra cynical and ALWAYS DO YOUR OWN REASEARCH.
