I only recently discovered PRESEARCH and so far I like what I am seeing. I've been using it just for a couple of days but I really like the idea of it. We are all starting to learn that our data is one of our most valuable assets and we are continuously giving it to the big corporations for free. One of the biggest aggregators of our information is our search habits. Almost everyone I know when they have a question or want to find something out the first thing they do is head to the time tested google and see what they show us, but that's the thing we only see what "they" want us to see. Look up SEO and you will see how big of an industry it is. People write courses on how to have your link show up higher on the page of google results. You don't necessarily see the most relevant information but instead the most relevant information google thinks you should see. Experienced traders and market makers routinely take advantage of google trends to see whats hot at the moment and how they can take advantage. They make millions of dollars knowing what the masses are thinking at a point in time and we give them that information for free. Google is one of the most powerful companies in the world because they can gather our data in ways no other company has been able to match. This is the problem with centralization as it gives organizations too much power to control things and takes away power from the people.
Presearch seems like it could be a solution or at the very least a step in the right direction. You are incentivized to search using presearch and they promise unbiased results as it is decentralized and run by independent nodes. Right now whenever you go to a website all kinds of information are given to the site like your ip address, browser your using, what kind of device your using, and even location info. This changes with presearch as they use independent nodes to perform your searches so your search is masked because it is going through the nodes instead of direclty to the website. this gives you privacy and keeps you safe on the internet along with keeping your valuable information to yourself so you can give it away when you feel it is worth it.
The fact that they pay you in PRE tokens just to use their site is even better as it gives you a feeling of community and incentive to continue using and promoting their search engine. I did a comparison of the results brought up by google and presearch and they were exactly the same. If you got the same results but were assured your privacy is important and you get paid to use them what is the downside? I dont see any and will be using presearch from here on out hoping that it eventually becomes the standard for internet searching.
