Introduction
Although I had long heard of cryptocurrencies, basically Bitcoin (BTC), I was not particularly attracted to this world.
What’s more, some of the news I was reading was a bit ‘surprising’, to say the least. For example, the fact that anyone with knowledge could develop a cryptocurrency, and that it could reach exorbitant values ??outside of the ‘traditional’ financial market, I was quite surprised.
And then that a currency like Bitcoin suddenly rose to $20,000 out of nowhere in a few days and then fell again, it showed me that its value was very volatile (and that it could affect people, since there were people who sold or mortgaged their house, they used their savings… to buy Bitcoins around that time).
Evolution
However, a few months ago I started reading about the roots of this world, the blockchain, and its use, not only in financial transactions, but also in the industry.
In this new world, information is decentralized. A block chain records the information of the different transactions that are made, each block has a place in the chain, since it is related to the previous block, and each block chain stores a copy of it in each node of the network.
This makes it difficult for it to be modified (since as the valid information is agreed with all the nodes of the network, to change this information, 51% of the nodes should be acted upon).
Present
At present, apart from learning about the Blockchain world and its applications, I have also started to acquire some cryptocurrencies, little thing, since I consider that:
- On the one hand, my knowledge of cryptocurrencies and how they are traded is limited, so there is no point in investing a lot of money if there is a high probability of losing it.
- And, on the other hand, I follow the advice that they gave me a long time ago, and that I have later seen in different places: ‘Never invest what you are not willing to lose’.
Conclusions
My idea is to continue studying the world of Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies, and to publish articles about what I am learning and consider interesting.
