Just in time for Christmas, the beta version of Mining on Alien Worlds has been released!
So let's jump into it!
You can get started at https://beta.alienworlds.io/ and if you don't already have Alien Worlds NFTs, the game will provide you with a basic Human Avatar and a Standard Shovel (gotta start somewhere).
Mining itself is a pretty simple process. You first set it up by selecting a land, and then up to 3 tools to use. Once that's done, you click the Mine button.
If you are successful, you'll be given a chance to claim your Trilium. Then, there will be a delay before you can mine again based on the tools you used and the plot you mined. Generally, the better the tools and land, the longer the delay. With a starting Avatar and Standard Shovel on a Common plot, I can mine every minute and a half. On a Legendary land with three quality tools, it can be an hour delay, though, of course, the potential rewards are greater.
Aside from mining, you have other options for Inventory, Manage Land (not yet available), Staking, and Thunderdome (also not yet available).
Inventory, as you might expect, shows the cards you have.
You can also stake Trilium to a planet, which does nothing for now, but in the future it will allow you to participate in planetary governance and also somehow affect the potential Trilium production on the planet. Details of that are unclear at the moment.
And I have to say, that this is pretty damn cool that we are getting to actually make use of our lands just 2 1/2 weeks after the land sale! None of this waiting around for a year while the team develops the code for the NFTS they already sold you!
And as I'm writing this, the devs are running tests, checking data feeds, and enabling new features, so there may be even more going on by the time you read this article! So head on over and get started with mining in Alien Worlds! I'll see you in the trenches!
