Blockade Games, the company behind the upcoming blockchain RPG, Neon District, announced today that it has partnered with Matic Network (MATIC) to integrate the project into its upcoming Blockchain Game Developer Platform.
According to the announcement, Matic Network will be one of three networks available to game developers when the platform launches early next year, along with Ethereum (ETH) and Loom Network (LOOM).
“Matic Network is a hot, up-and-coming Ethereum sidechain designed to sustain high-volume applications and games,” stated Blockade Games in the announcement. “Building on Matic allows developers to write contracts and develop in the same manner they’re used to on Ethereum, but deploying on Matic provides massive scalability and efficiency gains while providing similar security guarantees provided through a tether to Ethereum.”
Blockade Games’ developer platform, which is currently accepting applications for its beta, will offer developers all the tools necessary to develop and integrate a blockchain layer into new or existing games. The platform’s tools will include real-time blockchain data API, simplified creation and deployment of in-game assets (NFTs), and a number of other integral elements tied to user management and payments.
Matic Network has been busy in recent weeks in partnering with several blockchain games. As we previously reported, Battle Racers, an upcoming arcade-style racing game in the Decentraland metaverse, recently partnered with Matic to migrate its NFTs to a new Ethereum sidechain. Chainbreakers, an Ethereum-based RPG on Decentraland, also recently conducted the first NFT sale using Matic Network.
MATIC is currently up 37.9% on the day to $0.021624, giving the token a $53.3 million market cap.
