LaLiga and GCOX as first cryptocurrency partners

The deal, which covers Asia and the Middle East, will gives the Singapore-headquartered company the right to provide exclusive products, services, social interactions and experiences for both fans and its business community.

As part of the arrangement, La Liga tokens will now be featured alongside other celebrity and brand tokens on the GCOX platform.

La Liga token holders will have opportunities to attend training sessions in Spain, as well as events hosted by the Spanish soccer league in Asia. They will also get VIP access to La Liga matches, in addition to the chance to attend meet and greet sessions with the league’s ambassadors.

“This partnership represents a significant step in terms of our strategy in Asia,” said Ivan Codina, La Liga’s managing director for Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea and Australia.

“We're looking to roll out a long-term plan that not only allows the La Liga brand to grow in this market but one that also promotes the development of the national game and provides spaces where fans are able to get a sense of the passion that surrounds the competition at close quarters.”

An official release added that GCOX will have further opportunities to activate the partnership through soccer clinics, pre-season fixtures between La Liga teams and local clubs, digital activations and events with ambassadors.

Jeffrey Lin, chief executive of GCOX, added: “This partnership will allow us to provide specific customer groups with opportunities, as well as attracting new customers and football fans, who will get to experience what La Liga is all about.”
