Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken reported that they will suspend the trading of XRP for US users, citing the lawsuit filed against Ripple by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In the statement made by the exchange, it was stated that the suspension will take effect on January 30, however, customers can continue to hold XRP on the platform, deposit or withdraw XRP.
The decision will not affect customers in other countries. Customers outside the US will continue to trade XRP without interruption.
Kraken has been the last exchange to terminate trading on XRP for now. At the same time, all major stock exchanges in the US thus stopped trading XRP.
Ripple and the SEC will appear before a judge for the first time next month. According to the latest information, 21 lawyers will represent Ripple side and 3 lawyers on the SEC side.
XRP is trading at $ 0.277 as of 02.00.
