“Welcome to our new home!” Karen, 36, warmly states as our journey into the James household begins. “Just watch your step, the kid’s leggos sting.” The James household appears like any other McMansion aside from the pink Unicorn decor.
“A lot of people stare but, I’m guilty, I love unicorns!”. After digging deeper we find that this obsession has been quite profitable. “How did we get here… well I was trying to enjoy crypto with my husband and he kept blabbering on about free Uniswap… maybe some sort of drop… anyways, when I googled the logo I was sold!” Still absent from the room, Mr. James can be heard yelling in the basement. “Oh Billy is still upset with the SEC not letting XRP become the standard or something… he says he’s a maximalist… I’m just enjoying all of this but he is taking things too personal.” Karen continues on about the struggles of marriage during Covid. “I do not understand how he wouldn’t even consider 1inch, another unicorn!”
We are shook by a loud thud followed by, “that’s what I think of you Jay Clayton…”. Unfazed, Karen continues on, “He’s refused to come out of the basement since he found out how much success I’ve achieved and is somehow furious about how I don’t know what I’m doing. How could he even think something like that? He invested his life savings so I did the same.” Karen does not limit her strategy to just Unicorns. In addition, she harnesses her inner spirit. “It’s very cosmic! I just have to be holding this crystal in my left hand while I log in… Oh, this only works if I’ve had my essential oils”. The small talk continues to slow without Mr. James company. “I guess crypto doesn’t solve the very problem, right?”
