If they go low, go lower

"If they go low, go lower". I assume that we've all heard people make this statement, or maybe you have made the statement yourself. Another version of the statement would be, "if they go low, enter the gutter". For those that do know what the two statements mean, it means exacting revenge in a very wicked way.

Many people has a lot to say about revenge. There is those who say revenge is a bad and thus people should not go for it. There is also the "pay then back in their coins" group of people

The first group will tell you that revenge is a sin and was expressly forbidden by Jesus in the bible when he said, "if you are slapped on one cheek, turn the other for them". A person who seeks vengeance in the face of wrongdoing is seen as an unbeliever. Revenge, they say, is for the supreme one. They believe in letting karma play out. A person who has done something bad to you will eventually get his payback from God or from nature. It is morally lacking to stoop so low in exacting revenge on people who have wronged you.

The "pay them back in their coins" group are all for paying you back your evil with evil. Some will ensure the revenge they dish out to those that offended them will be of the same proportion with the offense itself. While some will make sure that their vengeance will be greater than your offence. They believe in the "if you go low, I'll go lower" mantra.

I was scrolling through social media, specifically on Instagram when I saw a message left by a lady in a comment section. She was telling the story of how she exacted revenge on her friend. According to her, a friend borrowed a huge amount of money from her and refused to pay back. On demanding for her money, she was blocked on all social media platforms. Some months later, this debtor friend reached out to her and asked her to be one of her brides maids since she was getting married. She(storyteller) agreed to this. After all the bridesmaids had contributed money with which to get a gift for the bride, she asked them to give her the money so she could personally present same to the bride. She immediately took back the money the bride owed her and sent the remaining one to the bride. The bride was pained and ended up blocking her again. That was the end of their friendship.

If you were the lady who lent money, to the bride, what action would you have taken?
