Emotions accompany us throughout life and are among the typical features of human existence. However, it is not only when trading that it is good to be able to control emotions. Do not expect any general speech in this article, but specific tips on how to fight emotions and how to control them. You will also learn the specific way we use ourselves.

You have to admit emotions

Personally, I'm not a person who is somehow extra interested in emotions. I will suppress them in public and at home I would not be extra interested in them in my free time. However, when I wondered how many times why I failed, I found that emotions could be behind it all.

And just allowing emotions is the first way to succeed. If something went wrong according to your ideas, think about it: what was behind it? Was it really ignorance or maybe anger, aggression, fear, nervousness?

You may need to be upset about a super successful trade and risk an unnecessarily large amount for the subsequent trade and then move the stoploss. This should never happen and trading should be consistent. You need to realize why you behaved like that.

Diary - record your emotions

Did you argue with your family? Are you afraid of a meeting or conversation with a superior? Are you aggressive in the car or in the markets? So make a note of it. Personally, I started writing emotions in a physical small block, but later I switched to an online solution so that I could write down anything at any time - after all, I still have the phone with me and write down, for example, "I exploded behind the wheel due to a slow-moving car" is easy on the phone and I always write down everything I need.

It is important for me to write it down as soon as possible after the incident, thanks to which you will express your emotions as faithfully as possible.

Only in the evening or even once a week will I go through it all and write a comment on it - what to do next time so that I don't have such strong emotions. Emotions are emotions and it is always advisable to analyze them on the contrary, with a distance where you think as rationally as possible.

Fortune favors the prepared

You never completely eliminate emotions, but you can manage them. If you can prepare for something, do it. The above-mentioned diary (either in the form of a notebook or online) will help you with this.

Personally, I used to be afraid of the first calls with clients in English. I mastered the language, but it was still gnawing at my head, what if I didn't understand it? I wrote down emotions in the form of fear. On the first call, I sweated my T-shirt and in the evening supplemented it with a comment that I managed it and I did everything. I noted "fear was unnecessary," which I noted in bold. Of course, I was nervous on other calls, but less so. And today? Today I rather remember it. But I still struggle with other emotions that I am learning to eliminate.

If you evaluate the situation, you can prepare for it and next time it will always be better, and if not, then record everything again and evaluate again.

How to fight a seizure - acute emotion

This must have happened to you too. Some people suffer often and others only a few times in their lifetime. Sometimes failure comes and you need to face it. What to do in this situation? Of course, every situation is different.

From life I can mention passing the driving license exam, high school diploma, university exams, state exams, various tests, job interviews, conversations in English, presentations, unpleasant conversations and much more. In the situation mentioned above, their lightening helped me.

And what is it all about? Is it about life? Will the world stop if I don't "give it"? It will not stop, I will be sorry, but there will be another opportunity and there are more important things in life such as health, family and the like. Yes, there can be a serious situation in these areas, there helps time the most, but when it comes to just an interview with the boss or a meeting with a client, so what? Basically, it's nothing, I'll prepare for it as best I can and it will turn out somehow. I'll be ready and I can't do more for it, moreover, it's not about life.

Emotions and trading

We applied the emotions above to everyday life, but in trading it is the same. Write down your emotions and learn from them. If you know that something will decide you emotionally (and it doesn't have to be trading), then I would consider trading that day at all. You will not be 100% ready!

Personally, I am not a psychologist and I do not have similar psychological advice in love, but I hope that the above tips will help you. At least they helped me and my emotional diary is my great life helper.
