I bought my Bitcoin on 9 Jan 2021. What a terrible timing, Bitcoin immediately fell by 25%, see below.
Again, Bitcoin is massively down, by 20% over the last month. So I wonder:
- Should I repeat by terrible timing, and sell it all, only to observe it rise thereafter?
- Should I sit tight, possibly incurring a loss?
Two weeks ago, I asked, is this a good time to swap Bitcoin for ETH?
Since then much has happened, though, I still think I will stick to my Bitcoins for now. Why?
- I don't feel comfortable selling parts of my Bitcoin at the current price. Back in April it was at the same level (see image on top), and then recovered well.
- Despite increasing ESG pressures - which in general I buy into - to me Bitcoin should have its place in a diversified portfolio.
My current portfolio:
34% ETH
12% BTC
6% ADA
5% DOT
4% ICP
4% UNI
3% XLM
3% XRP
3% FILE
2% SHIB
2% TRX
2% BAT
2% DOGE
2% SOL
2% BNB
2% MIOTA
1% STORJ
1% AAVE
1% BCH
1% LTC
1% XTZ
1% LINK
1% ZRX
1% THETA
1% COMP
1% CHZ
(plus some dust)
Comment: I sold some ETH this week at ?2930 though bought about the same amount last week for ?2550. If ETH goes further down, it may be a good opportunity to get more.
