I'm loving my time at Gemini so far. I like how its interface features all the trending cryptocurrencies as well as their current market prices. Without this interface, I wouldn't have known that 1 unit of Yearn.Finance (YFI) costs around $44k, which means that it is even more expensive than Ethereum. So, Gemini has broadened my knowledge of the various altcoins out there.
Today, something happened that really made my day. As you can see it from the title, I received my first Gemini referral credit. Gemini has this referral program, in which I receive a blessing of $10 in BTC when some kind soul out there uses my referral link ( https://www.gemini.com/share/ppkd6ra39 ) and trades $100 worth of USD.
Without further ado, here's how the email looked like:
What do people do when they get referral credits? Withdraw it out so that they derive some monetary benefits from their crypto portfolio or trade it for their most preferred crypto (unless their referral credit is already in their favorite crypto)?
I am new to this crypto game but I decided that whenever I get crypto for free, I will immediately channel it into Gemini's Earn program so that my crypto gets to compound and grow. Since the crypto is not mine in the first place, I won't miss it anyway.
So that's what I did. I transferred $10 worth of Bitcoin into the Earn program and will wait for it to grow at 1.65% (APY).
