Freedom within our own walls

Plato would discuss how perception would change from a dark cave dimmly lit but a fire to a sun that shines on a vast plane. How freedom would be percieved by our own eyes would differ between people given the structures they place themselves in.

A country in the middle east enjoys such freedom and rhe sun shines from a clear sky on a simmers day yet everyone enjoying it might as well have been loving in a cave absent from the faintest of light and warmth from a fire created by their imagination.

I walked when everyone was in cars. I looked at the sky as everyone stared at their phones. I saw destroyed buildings shattered from previous drama or previous neglect. They call themselves free but their days seemed on repeat. How different can the day be if what rhey see is always the same. How different could a conversation with them be if all they do is regurgitate the same. Every word seemed to rhyme with other peoples opinions. The never ending creativity they present to others regarding the ssme topic would astonish me beyond amusement.

The entertainment of watching gold fish in a bowl, swimming from one side to another constantly forgetting its limits and always shocked when discovering the glass that keeps its water secure.

Judging by a society thats sole voice comes as a parrot in training. Mostly mimicing the worda bestowed upon them by leaders of choosing even if they cause dismay. The freedom they share presents itself in the form of an illusion creared by the unity of all the voices that sound the same symphony following the beats of an outdated system. A symphony that keeps them oblivious to the wonders of the world and the wonders of possibilities within it.

I walk the streets and see people. Empty of thought and devoid of ambition. My anxiousness to talk to them dies and i slowly see my beliefs and vision questioned by non other than myself. Such power the cave would have on its inhabitants. Believing they have freedom when they arent even freed to hear the voice of others within their realm.

I see myself talking to a gold fish in a bowl. Where my words only make the water murkier since the gold fish tends to take its time swimming as on not to disturb the filth that has accumulated over the years and the pretense that she is free and the bowl is actually a home.

A day outside the internet brings wonders of a sleeping world that doesnt seem to understand that a future of true freedom is upon us. As networks grow and candles switch from green to red and red to green. I find myself talking to a crowd in a language that breaks their reality and sends them to their safe space of despair.

How will the eyes see the truth if the truth utself is not achnowledged. My world has changed. Its opened and endlessly growing while even their sky seems limited. I have found a place i can call home. But others need to see it as well, Or maybe they just need to accept they dont have one.

The cave will always seem small under the sky. But its bigger than we think to the peoole stuck inside.
