2TM which is the parent company of the Brazilian exchange Mercado Bitcoin, announced that is laying off about 15% of it?s employees , whose number goes around near 100 people.
It is the most recent wave of layoffs that?s has been happening among Latin American crypto companies and exchanges in the latest months. Another crypto exchange from Mexico , Bitso, also announced that would layoff 80 employees from their staff in May and Buenbit , an argetinian exchange decreased their staff from 215 employees to 115 , almost half of the staff...
The layoffs and job losses have been happening due to the collapse in the crypto prices this year , also due to the Terra/Luna crash months ago and adding to that, the economic slowdown that?s been happening around the world with inflation continiously increasing.
The company 2TM also mentioned the lack of regulation in Brazil , which is putting Brazilian crypto companies at disadvantage.
