Elon Musk's community always pays close attention when he tweets. He often causes quite a stir with his posts, such as when he loudly considered taking Tesla off the stock market, which led to a storm on the shares and brought the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the scene.

In recent weeks, the Tesla CEO has repeatedly caused some fluctuations in Dogecoin's price. In several tweets and memes, the entrepreneur revealed himself as a big fan of the coin, sending Dogecoin to an all-time high of $0.08495 on February 8. This is a 1,700 percent increase in the price since the beginning of the year.

Now he has sent another cryptocurrency skyrocketing only this time it was unintentional.

In a Twitter exchange with user Mansour Shahrokh, the user suggested Musk launch his own cryptocurrency called ElonCoin, to which Musk replied he would only do so if necessary. The Twitter member CZ BINANCE picked up on and suggested the name MarsCoin. Musk seemed to like the idea and replied, "There will definitely be a MarsCoin."

What he didn't know is that there is already a MarsCoin that jumped to an all-time high of $2.50 after this exchange. The coin, which has been tradable since January 18, has thus risen 1,366 percent since the beginning.
