Hi everyone,
Going From eating 30 plants a week to 50 plants a week was my goal I set myself 2 weeks ago and did not achieve it. Therefore I set the same goal for this week. In the previous attempt, the part where the most improvement could be made is the morning because a normal day for me starts with a tea or a coffee but not with food. I have to try and include more plant-eating during breakfast as that would hopefully also increase the number of species I eat and help me with ingesting all the necessary vitamins and minerals.
This is what happened this week.
Monday: 13
- Breakfast: black tea
- Lunch: garlic, wheat (bread),
- tomato, lettuce, onion, sesame seeds
- Snacks: tangerine,persimmon, banana, gold kiwifruit
Tuesday: 4
- Breakfast: tea
- Lunch: red pepper
- green beans, onions,
- Snacks: coffee, red pepper, green and white celery
Wednesday: 2
- Breakfast: /
- Lunch: celery, red pepper, coconut, cacao(chocolate)
- Dinner: tomato, wheat (bread), cacao (chocolate)
- Snacks: coffee, tea, tangerine
Thursday: 3
- Breakfast: /
- Lunch: /
- garlic, button mushroom,
- Snacks: potato
Friday: 3
- Breakfast: tea,
- Lunch: wheat (bread)
- Dinner: carrot, lettuce, onion, red cabbage, potato, wheat (bread), sesame seeds
- Snacks: , tangerine
Saturday: 5
- Breakfast: tea
- Lunch: wheat (bread), tomato, garlic, onion
- couscousiceberg lettuce, carrot, onion, red bell pepper
- Snacks: (popcorn), tangerine, coffee
Sunday: 4
- Breakfast: /
- Lunch: shiitake, bamboo sprouts, leek, carrot
- Chinese cabbage, button mushroom, shiitake, onion, bamboo sprouts, sugar snaps
- Snacks: corn (popcorn), tangerine, coffee
Total plant species consumed this week: 34
Again I did not reach the goal but it was still not bad considering the fact that I was sick for half of this time. On Wednesday I felt a little bit getting a cold and not feeling very well, Thursday this became worse and scheduled for a covid PCR test as also my olfactory senses wore affected and this was a symptom of the virus. Eventually, it was not covid-19 but still, I’m sick. Especially Saturday was a bad day. Being sick has really affected the number of plants consumed as I just ate small amounts and relied on family for food because I was not really hungry and had not much energy to make something new.
Of course, it is not only plants that provide all the nutrients, I also ate a variety of fish and meat that provide some good nutrients. Still, breakfast is a difficult meal for me as I’m just not hungry in the morning. Even when I’m almost starving at night when I go to sleep I still wake up without any hunger feeling LOL.
Also, my healthy snacks were reduced in variety in comparison with before. For example, I did not eat much fruit or nuts the whole week which is special for me haha. In the coming week, I will again record my plant-eating experiences but I’m going to change up the post a bit and bring in some other interesting things I can find.
