A. What is DigiByte?
DigiByte is a decentralized blockchain project established on January 10, 2014. Since it is not a centralized management, it does not require permission. The DigiByte blockchain does not allow for changes and is irreversible. DigiByte blockchain is open source. DigiByte acts on the principle of "Do not trust, verify", in other words, "Don't trust, verify", one of the most important expressions of Bitcoin. For this reason, it has adopted the principle that no assets on the blockchain that are traded and sent should be trusted and verified. When DigiByte was launched in 2014, it was recognized as a revolutionary project with a 60-second block time compared to all other Proof of Work blockchains.
What Does B. DigiByte Offer?
DigiByte is focused on speed, security, and scalability. It aims to be a faster, safer and more future-oriented project. Using the Odocrypt algorithm, DigiByte offers one of the highest technologies in the field of security in order to protect against future dangers. This polymorphic mining algorithm rewrites itself every 10 days to prevent ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) dominance and encourage the use of FPGA mining. (FPGA mining uses next-generation FPGA chips that can provide high hash rate power at low power consumption. It is suggested that FPGA mining will soon surpass ASIC mining due to its extraordinary features.)
In this way, future algorithms will be constantly changed as needed to ensure maximum security on the DigiByte network, while maintaining the decentralized, distributed structure of the DigiByte blockchain.
DigiByte is working with DigiShield to ensure stability in block generation timing, despite increases and decreases in processing power. It is used in dozens of reputable blockchain projects such as DigiShield, Dogecoin and ZCash. DigiShield allows stable block times between multiple mining agreements and an even distribution of block mining among algorithms, while also preventing mining domination when a significant number of mining entries or exits are experienced into the network. This maintains the distribution and decentralization of the network.
C. DigiByte Technology
DigiByte initially used the Litecoin codebase to create a standalone blockchain and a unique Genesis Block. DigiByte, which has gone through many disagreements and bifurcations, did not leave any of these processes with a bifurcation and a complete consensus was formed in the network. In this way, the DigiByte network has been upgraded without any problems.
DigiByte has significantly faster block times than many other blockchain projects. DigiByte also encountered many problems thanks to this scaling feature, but overcame them all. DigiByte adopted the Segwit protocol through a soft fork consensus in 2017. It was the first major project to do this upgrade before blockchains such as Litecoin and Bitcoin.
D. DigiByte Team and Company
DigiByte was created by Jared Tate who wanted to build a blockchain that addresses Bitcoin's many detected shortcomings. Jared Tate has been involved in Bitcoin since 2012. In the fall of 2013, Bitcoin decided to make several improvements to its core protocol. As a result of these improvements, DigiByte emerged on January 10, 2014. Jared Tate was recognized as "DigiMan" before announcing his temporary retirement from his job in May 2020. Tate ended his temporary retirement in September and returned to his duty and continues to contribute to the development of DigiByte. DigiByte's operations depend not only on the developers, but also on the DigiByte Foundation, a voluntary organization tasked with overseeing the protection of the project. The DigiByte Awareness Team (DigiByte Awareness Team), a third volunteer group, is responsible for marketing and promotion activities.
DigiByte Foundation
The DigiByte Foundation is a non-profit organization managed on a voluntary basis. Board and members of the DigiByte Foundation do not receive any fees. The DigiByte Foundation is not fully affiliated with DigiByte. The DigiByte Foundation classifies themselves as other stakeholders of the community and find any central extension with DigiByte against the central structure they oppose and do not believe, and all the ideals of decentralization.
The main purpose of the DigiByte Foundation is to promote and support the DigiByte Blockchain and its users, to support the DigiByte blockchain and its generally decentralized.
